Here's a possible cure: List the tasks that take up the most time in your life, in and outside work. For each task, ask yourself, "Can I delegate this? Can I do it smarter? Can I do it less like a perfectionist without causing significant problems? Can I forego the task altogether?" If there are tasks you'd like to do more efficiently but can't figure out how, ask an efficient friend how he would approach them.
